My mechanic can't solve problem with 2009 25 hp Etec » 2009 Etec. Model E25DTELISC. SN. 05292731 This all started when I hit a submerged rock in Lake Pepin at about 10 in the morning. The prop was not damaged and nothing seemed severely wrong. The engine ran the rest of the day but I sensed it was running at about 7/8 speed. Sometime after 6 pm I was running full out across the lake and lost all thrust in the engine. the engine would run, but had difficulty shifting and after shifting the prop wouldn't spin.    Took the boat/motor in and had a shop work on it. They dropped the lower unit and said it was shredded. Had to get an OEM replacement. The shop also said the drive shaft was bent. Replaced that and the impeller. Got the boat back. Ran it one time with 4 in the boat and it didn't feel like it had much power. Also was producing steam. Took it out a second time and it ran great for about 2 min then I noticed the motor dropped in tone a bit signaling a slight loss in power. Kept running for about 15 more minutes and it dropped in power again. This time I n Etecownersgroup.com
